Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
2.75 cups all-purpose flour
1.25 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2.5 sticks unsalted butter, softened
1.25 cups packed dark-brown sugar
0.75 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1.5 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Baking Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Combine or sift flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a bowl.
Beat butter and sugars with a mixer on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy (about 4 minutes).
Beat in eggs and vanilla extract, then reduce speed to low.
Add the flour mixture; beat until just combined. Mix in chocolate chips.
Drop about 3 tablespoon dough balls onto parchment-lined baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
Bake until golden around the edges but soft in the middle (about 15 minutes).
Let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
